DC Trade Solicitations for November 2026 - Absolute Batman Vol. 1 Deluxe, Robin: Tim Drake Compendium Two, Supergirl and Superman Unlimited: Reign of the Superboys, Dark Nights: Death Metal Compendium, DC Next Level New Titans
The DC Comics November 2026 trade paperback and hardcover solicitations finish up the DC Fall 2026 catalog with December’s New Titans, but the big regular series standouts for me are January’s Superman Unlimited Vol. 3 and Supergirl Vol. 3, and Nightwing Vol. 4, Detective Comics Vol. 4, and Poison Ivy Vol. 8, leading respectively into the “Kingdom of Zod” and “Bad Seeds” crossovers respectively, as listed in the DC Spring 2027 catalog. That’s what I see for the beginning of my comics-reading 2027 — catching up on the Super-books and especially I’m behind on the ancillary Bat-books, so reading those before the crossovers.
No doubt comics shops and especially retail bookstores will have the Absolute Batman Vol. 1 Deluxe front and center. DC can make profit on successive volumes for a while; I do wonder, as I mention below, whether they would be able to sell these as well beyond the Big Three, or if just anything with Absolute on it flies off the shelves.
Superman: Panic in the Sky is my perennial favorite; if you haven’t read it yet, take this as your opportunity. Glad to see the Robin: Tim Drake Compendium Two, which has in it some never-before-collected issues; DC Finest: Catwoman is also continuing to sail well beyond issues of the 1990s series that were ever collected before.
Let’s take a look at the full list.
Recent DC Comics Trade Solicitations
- • 100 Bullets: First Shot, Last Call: DC Compact Comics Edition TP
The first five issues of 100 Bullets, plus a story from Vertigo: Winter’s Edge.
- • Absolute Batman Vol. 1 Deluxe Edition HC
If you’re not reading Absolute Batman already, this is certainly a nice way to read it. Coming in April and collecting Absolute Batman #1–14, which is the Absolute Batman Vol. 1: The Zoo and Absolute Batman Vol. 2: Abomination collections. Doing this for Absolute Green Lantern is a shoo-in with the new Lanterns show, but I wonder if Absolute Flash will get this treatment outside the Big Three?
- • Batgirl: Year One Deluxe Edition (2027 Edition) HC
In January, collecting the nine-issue miniseries by Chuck Dixon and Scott Beatty. I reviewed Batgirl: Year One oh way back in 2006.
- • Batman by Neal Adams Absolute Edition 1970-1996 HC
Collects stories from Detective Comics #404, #407–408, and #410; Batman #232, #234, #237, #243–245, #251, and #255; Power Records PR-27; and Power Records PR-30, plus an introduction by Walt Simonson.
- • Batman: Detective Comics: Vol. 4: Flight HC
In hardcover and paperback in January. The previous catalog solicitation also had this as issues #1107–1112; the Bad Seeds tie-in issues are #1113–1114.
- • Batman: The Resurrection of Ra’s Al Ghul (2026 Edition) TP
New printing of the crossover, collecting Batman #670–671, Robin #168–169, Detective Comics #838–839, Nightwing #138–139, Batman Annual #26, and Robin Annual #7. The solicitation’s got a lot of chutzpah calling this “a defining modern event” rather than “a bland interruption of Grant Morrison’s Batman run.” I reviewed Batman: The Resurrection of Ra’s al Ghul in 2008, calling it “gigantically decompressed story with a lot of punching and kicking, but not much to make it very remarkable.”
- • Batman/Superman: World’s Finest Vol. 10: Warlords HC
In January in hardcover and paperback. The previous catalog solicitation had this as issues #50–53 and the Batman/Superman: World’s Finest 2026 Annual #1.
- • Dark Nights: Death Metal Compendium TP
Collects Dark Nights: Death Metal #1–7, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Legends of the Dark Knights #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Last 52: War of the Multiverses #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Speed Metal #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Infinite Hour Exxxtreme #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Trinity Crisis #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Robin King #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Multiverse’s End #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Rise of the New God #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Multiverse Who Laughs #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: Guidebook #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Secret Origin #1, Dark Nights: Death Metal: The Last Stories of the DC Universe #1, and Justice League #53–57.
I reviewed these as Dark Nights: Death Metal, The Darkest Knight, The Multiverse Who Laughs, and War of the Multiverses. I wrote, “Death Metal is assuredly a good story, [Scott] Snyder offers a conception of the whole of the DC Universe to rival Grant Morrison’s metaphysics, and if it were not for Dark Nights: Metal, then Death Metal might be received with the original Metal’s fanfare. But it was, so it isn’t (or something).”
- • DC Finest: Batgirl: Silent Knight TP
I’m still curious about why DC did the DC Finest: Batgirl: Nobody Dies Tonight volume, Batgirl #7–27 and sundry appearances, before this one, collecting the relevant Batgirl parts of “No Man’s Land” plus the first six issues of the Scott Peterson/Kelley Puckett series. Well, a win either way.
Coming in January, collecting Batgirl #1–6, Batgirl Annual #1, Batman: No Man’s Land #0, Batman #567 and #569, Detective Comics #732 and #734, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight #120, Azrael: Agent of the Bat #56–57 and #60–61, Batman Chronicles #18, Batman: Gotham Knights #2, and Ghost/Batgirl #1–4 by Mike Kennedy and Ryan Benjamin.
- • DC Finest: Catwoman: Creatures of the Night TP
Collects Catwoman #33–53, Catwoman Annual #3–4, and DC Universe Holiday Bash #1 by Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, and Jim Balent, plus pages and pin-ups from Batman Chronicles Gallery #1 and Batman Secret Files #1. There’s tie-ins here with “Legacy,” but the book ends before “Cataclysm” and “No Man’s Land,” to give you a sense of the time period. One annual is “Legends of a Dead Earth” and the other is “Pulp Heroes.”
- • DC Finest: Romance: Escape From Loneliness TP
Silver Age romance comics by John Romita, Robert Kanigher, Mike Sekowsky, Phyllis Reed and more. Collects Falling in Love #58–61, Girls' Romances #91–94, Girls' Love Stories #94–97, Heart Throbs #83–85, and Secret Hearts #86–89.
- • DC Finest: Wonder Woman: Judgment in Infinity TP
Collects stories featuring a new direction and insignia for Wonder Woman from the early 1980s: Wonder Woman #280–305, New Teen Titans #11–12, the special 16-page preview story from DC Comics Presents #41, and the never-collected Superman: The Computer Masters of Metropolis #1 (I am certain I had a copy of this at one point). This Wonder Woman series crossed over with Crisis, and then ended, with issues #327–329.
- • Metamorpho: Year One (2026 Edition) TP
What feels a little late after the Superman movie, this is a reprinting of the six-issue Dan Jurgens/Mike Norton miniseries from 2007. This was part of a spate of “Year One” miniseries in the late 2000s. Is there a Metamorpho Next Level series coming?
- • New Titans Vol. 1: The Future Is Tomorrow TP
In paperback in December, said to collect issues #33–37 of the new title by Tate Brombal and Sami Basri. High hopes for this one; hope it doesn’t let me down.
- • Nightwing Vol. 4: Blüdhaven Lore HC
The next collection from the Dan Watters run, now with art by Denys Cowan. In hardcover and paperback in January; weirdly I’m not seeing many issue listings but previously this was said to be #136–141.
- • Poison Ivy Vol. 8: Grassroots Monarchy HC
In January in hardcover and paperback. Previously said to collect Poison Ivy #42–47; the Bad Seeds issues begin with #48.
- • Preacher: Gone to Texas: DC Compact Comics Edition TP
Preacher #1–7 in the Compact Comics format.
- • Robin: Tim Drake Compendium Two TP
Collects Robin #6–30, Robin Annual #3–4 (“Elseworlds” and “Year One”), Azrael: Agent of the Bat #15–16, Batman: Shadow of the Bat #48–49, Detective Comics #685–686 (“War of the Dragons”) and #695–696, Catwoman #25 and #31–32, Green Arrow #105, Showcase '94 #5–6, and The Batman Chronicles #2 and #4. A lot of the non-Robin issues there are the “Contagion” crossover. It’s obviously a good sign these compendiums are continuing, though this book doesn’t go much farther than the Robin Vol. 5: War of the Dragons collection.
- • Supergirl Vol. 3: Reign of the Superboys - Hero of Kandor TP
In paperback in January. Said to collect Supergirl #11–15; the Kingdom of Zod crossover starts with issue #16.
- • Superman by Grant Morrison Book One TP
Kicking off in paperback in January with Action Comics #1–11, the beginning of Grant Morrison’s New 52 run. That’s the Action Comics Vol. 1: Superman and the Men of Steel and Action Comics Vol. 2: Bulletproof collections
Morrison’s Action Comics run would go to issue #18, but of course they’ve written more Superman than that. The omnibus of the same name did go up to #18, plus the #0 issue and an annual, but something more comprehensive could have All-Star Superman, Superman and the Authority, maybe some Final Crisis … what else?
- • Superman Unlimited Vol. 3: Reign of the Superboys – Tomorrow Man HC
In January in hardcover and paperback, collecting issues #11–15. The tie-ins to Kingdom of Zod begin with issue #16.
- • Superman: DC Compact Comics Box Set TP
Includes Superman/Batman (first Jeph Loeb collection), Superman: Birthright, Superman: Brainiac, Superman: Man of Steel, Superman: Secret Identity, and Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
- • Superman: Panic in the Sky (2027 Edition) TP
What I consider the epitome of the Triangle Titles era (take that, Death of Superman!), back in print in January in paperback. The catalog said this was is Action Comics #474–476, Superman: Man of Steel #9–11, Adventures of Superman #488–490, and Superman #65–67.
As I noted before, this is the expanded version of the collection; the original 1993 book collected only the event proper, while the 2016 version added an extra month of the Super-titles; a certain villain is surely the reason for this newest reprint. This is an epic story involving the whole of the active DCU at the time, the kind of thing that would definitely be a bloated line-wide event now, but in those simpler (better?) days, it just took place among two months of the Superman books.
I’m actually quoted on the Amazon page for this book and I hope that doesn’t go away!
